Quinn didn’t usually get the hots for banged up, surly bad boys either, but when Ward looks at her with those dark, tortured eyes of his, she can’t do anything else. Ward is used to pushing people away, but that doesn’t work on Quinn. Besides, she makes him laugh. A first. She’s everything he never knew he needed and nothing he deserves, but… He could be hers. For good. All he has to do is let her close.

Ward and Quinn. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. Never read this author before but would definitely read her stuff again. The story itself is pretty predictable and formulaic, but the characters are well crafted and their dialogue was clever. Quinn is a clumzy school teacher who meets Ward when she goes to a 'training camp' style fitness class. Ward it running the class for his brother who is out of town. Ward is a Navy Seal who was honorably discharged after almost loosing his leg. Ward and Quinn. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. Ward is a Navy Seal who was honorably discharged after almost loosing his leg. He's scarred and gruff and usually manages to scare people away. But Quinn is too straight forward and too comfortable with herself to take his scare 'vibes' seriously. Their romance starts out almost by accident and is awkward and humorous, but also sweet. It often surprised me what came out of their mouths. A very entertaining read that was hard to put down. My only complaint was that it ends a bit quickly, but all that needed to be said had been said. I just wished there had been a bit more. For those who worry about OW stuff (view spoiler)[ there is no OW or OM drama. It's been a long time for either MC (hide spoiler)]

Good book, but abrupt ending, felt like there should have been more.

This was a satisfying read, which could have been better. I thought that the characters were fleshed out well, but it seemed as if something was missing in the overall story-telling. For example, it started off comedic, then got dark. The darkness - from Ward's perspective - had to be present, but there could have been more of a balance, instead of having two extremes. One less sex scene would have helped too, since it was a rather short story. Less is more, people!

Ward and Quinn, can they work through the pain to get to love? The story unfolds in layers as the characters take on more and more depth. The intuitive Quinn helps the broken Seal Ward find feelings and his heart again.

It was just ok. I didn't feel much connection between the hero and heroine. He showed her his many scars and she didn't flinch and instead had sex with him. Eh. Forgettable read.

I really really liked it but...... I really really liked it but, I just needed more, I don't know how to explain it but I just we'd gotten more from Ward and Quinn, they were too interesting to be one dimensional but not enough was there to fully fleshed out either ,Quinn started out funny as hell and I found myself laughing where normally I'd only be annoyed ,stumbling bumbling heroines can be a real pet peeve of. I even buy Quinn was self aware and funny and just accepted herself as id ( well di I really really liked it but...... I even buy Quinn was self aware and funny and just accepted herself as id ( well did the most part ) I loved that about her,but after she meets Ward we only ever see her w/him, we never she her alone again, or w/friends or a pet or anything .... I would liked to have seen more or her life, who she was w/out Ward, and some lighter moments w/Ward, more moments where they were just enjoying just "being" in each other's presence ... Moments that had nothing to do w/his pain or hers, or each other's baggage, and maybe something funny again his dog Hype, but sadly it all became about Ward's push me - pull me dance, I want you but I'm too damaged BS ( not completely BS but should have sorted it out before the last 1/2 of the last chapter ) ... Don't get me wrong I adored both Ward and Quinn and think they are awesome,I read this on KU but I like it too much to not grab a copy for myself to keep at just .99 cents, buuuuuuuuut I just feel like the MC's needed more of a story than the got and we deserved to get a chance to see and enjoy them as a couple before the end of the book... Especially w/the lack of an epilogue, Please if your not going to let them become a couple til the very end of the book please, please give us an epilogue letting us know how things go soo it can feel like a true HEA...

A Force to Reckon with This time it's the SEAL who is going down. Ward keeps everyone at a distance, it's better for, well, everyone. So he doesn't see Quinn coming at him. She disarms him with her honesty. She brings him to his knees, literally and emotionally and he is helpless to defend himself. She is sharp, relentless, and sees straight through him. She's more terrifying than anyone on the battlefield and he is falling. Hard. This book had me laughing out loud so many times. Quinn kept coming after Ward and he just was blindsided by how quickly she could get to the heart of him. I loved how he would be prepared to set her in her place, away from him, and then be twisted around to do the exact opposite and draw ever closer to her. Brilliantly written. Full of heart and some really great awww moments!

Quinn and Ward This KU library book is a quick and easy read. I like that the storyline and dialogue are concise, with very little redundancy. The characters develop throughout the story, the relationship evolves, and there's a happy ever after. Quinn and Wade are at first an unlikely couple. But Quinn is a force of nature and Ward doesn't stand a chance. The only thing that could have made the story better would have been an expansion of the ending. 3.5 Stars Nail Down was a good quick story. Ward and Quinn are the male and female leads. Quinn is a school teacher but has two left feet. Ward is a retired Seal who was tortured three years prior, he is bitter, grumpy and has one expression on his face. Quinn and him meet while he is teaching a boot camp for his brother's gym. Quinn will see the real Ward and for the first time Ward wants her to see all of him. Enjoyed the story just wished it was longer . Happy Reading!!

Wow, funny, hot, tender, tough, kind of dark...did I say hot already because...yeah! It was more than that though--as if that wasn't enough! The book was beautifully written, disarmingly charming even when touching on some pretty horrific issues in Ward's past with just the right combination of compassion, understanding, and dignity. I totally fell for Quinn and Ward and their well-deserved happily-ever-after left me smiling and happy.

Enjoyable! This is the first book I have read by Kaily Hart. I love the strong but damaged characters and the story. I LOVE the humor in the first couple of chapters. And it's good to be reminded of what some of our service members have gone through. I'm not into the graphic sex but it's a wonderful story. I will read more by this author.

Nail Down Powerful story. Incorporates what these men and women in the military go through to keep us safe. Ward didn’t let anyone in until he met Quinn. Quinn was so funny and had such a great spirit loved this character. Loved this story. Glad Ward could find happiness. Great story, must read this one. Thank you to all the men and women who sacrifice everyday to keep us safe!

Emotional Short, quick intense read. It was so good to hear some of wards back story, I must say this book is not for the faint of heart. At one point I thought Quinn was going to go off on Ward for being such a jerk

Ward and Quinn.....what a sexy couple. Quinn saw through all of Ward’s scars, both externally and internally. As a result he opened to her more than any other, and love was the result. Her empathy and compassion helped heal a scarred soul. I enjoyed this book and recommend the series.

Nail Down I can't give any better preview than the one at the beginning of the book. I am enjoying this series. This book was a page Turner. I gave it five stars for that reason. When a book pulls you in and makes you feel from one end of the spectrum to the other its a keeper.

Wow, Just Wow This book touched me on so many levels! A broken man and a woman who thinks she is unwanted and different, learn, through each other that they are each just what the other needs. A beautiful story!

Fun read I adore Quinn. A quirky, uncoordinated, disaster walking verses a banged up, angry recovering former SEAL. If this book doesn't make you laugh, groan, and shake your head, I don't know what will.

Was ok The story was ok but I didn't really like the characters. She was just too forgiving for my liking. She kept getting hurt and just for giving like it was no big deal.
