There are a wide variety of recipes, including party appetizers, most of which are portioned for 1 or 2 people. Contents: The cookbook has an introduction describing its purpose and then 10 sections of recipes divided by type. These include beverages, chips and dips, meat-based, and sweets. The introduction includes a list of paleo ingredients that may be hard to find along with substitutions to allow cooks to make recipes regardless of what their local grocery store carries. Each specialized ingredient also has the URL of an online retailer to make sourcing them easier. Harder to find ingredients are identified in recipes with asterisks. There is an index by ingredient. Recipes: Each recipe has a short introduction, clear list of ingredients, and well written instructions. The recipes do not require special skills or equipment beyond a blender. There are not photos of recipes, although there are photos throughout the book. Each recipe includes basic nutritional information per serving. Mexismooth: This smoothie is high in protein due to the use of coconut milk and eggs and low in carbohydrates as it is sweetened with stevia. I’m not a big fan of chocolate, but enjoy Mexican chocolate, so gave it a try. It is an easy blender recipes so mixed together simply. However, I found it very strong, probably from the cocoa powder and quantity of stevia; despite the sweetness, it had a bitter tinge, which could be from either ingredient. I thought it might benefit from water to thin it a bit. A real dark chocolate lover may feel differently. I was also surprised that the book did not mention the potential dangers of consuming raw eggs. Coconog: This eggnog type drink was quite delicious. It was very quick to make and tasted really good. I think the quality of the seasonings used will really make a difference in the finished product as mine tasted more of vanilla and cinnamon since my nutmeg was older. Cinn-Nut Crackers: These crackers were simple to prepare and smelled delicious when baking. The recipe instructions did leave out an important step—when the wet and dry ingredients are combined. I poured the nut mixture into the bowl with the wet ingredients and stirred. It would also have helped to have had a better description of how fine to grind the nuts and seasonings in the food processer. I ground them fine, but not until they made a paste. The directions also state to bake until browned, which really meant to bake until the edges begin to turn dark brown as the batter is very brown from the cinnamon. The crackers turned out very delicate and had a nice nutty flavor. The cinnamon was not very noticeable, but I think it toned down the walnut flavor a bit. They were delicate and easily crumbled, so they aren’t the best for travel or thick spreads. They were also a bit greasy. Techniques: The book doesn’t use unusual techniques, but many recipes require a blender and a few use a food processor. Summary: This book provides a wide variety of interesting and good tasting recipes that fit with the Paleo lifestyle. But, they do tend to be very high in fat. I received this book free in return for a review.

While the book is all about the recipes for healthy paleo snacks, they didn't include photos of the food they talk about (which would've been nice). The food measurements are made for 1-2 people at a time, so you'll have to do some math if you're making it for more than yourself. The introduction is short and sweet. It even has a page for quick substitutions to different ingredients in the book which is helpful for items that are more likely to be in your house already. Pretty awesome looking as far as cookbooks go, really. I am super excited to try 15-20 of the recipes, and was bookmarking pages in each section as I was going through. As someone who doesn't eat a lot of starch easily, it's such a godsend when things like this do come out.
