I read I.O.U. after stumbling upon it on Amazon. Although the characters are likeable and have a lot of potential it struggled to keep my attention. A lot of the conversations between characters seemed forced, contrived. I found myself rewriting the interactions in my head in a way that felt more natural. I'm undecided if I will take the plunge into book two.

This story has caught my attention from the beginning. Mia's story is gut clenching, touching, and makes you open your eyes to realize this really happens in today's life. I couldn't stop reading. I felt her pain, wanted her to succeed.

The Book Mia is in a cult. She is about to be given to the leader as his wife. She escapes and begins a life in New York City. My Thoughts The suspense in this book had me turning pages as fast as I could. The characters were ones I grew to like. This is the first book in the Mancini Saga, so I look forward to the other books. I enjoyed April’s writing style, as it took me into the world of Mia, her friends, family and Carlos. There were twists and turns, some I saw coming, some I did not. This is The Book Mia is in a cult. She is about to be given to the leader as his wife. She escapes and begins a life in New York City. Quick, easy read with an interesting story. Written and introduced to me by a childhood friend, I was thrilled to have read her work. There is some minor editing glitches, but I think when ironed out, the author and the saga has potential in this genre.
